Towards a greener tomorrow

At European House of Beds A/S, we take responsibility for moving ourselves and our partners in a greener direction. That is why we strive to develop and produce in the most sustainable way possible.
Among other things, we take into account the raw materials we use, our energy consumption and the well-being of our employees. Read more about this in our annual sustainability report.
Our vision is to continue to develop our company in a more sustainable and green direction. We recognize the importance of the materials used in the development and production of our products.

Our sustainable vision

We are proud to present our 2024 Sustainability Report – the first year in which sustainability is fully embedded in our business strategy.

The report reflects a year of significant progress: We have completed our Scope calculator, which gives us full transparency in our CO₂e footprint across Scope 1, 2 and 3, and we have achieved a 20% reduction in electricity consumption.

Our efforts include switching to district heating, installing solar panels and transitioning to electric and hybrid cars in the company car fleet.

Although our total emissions are higher than before, this is due to an expanded and more accurate data base. This enables a more honest and transparent starting point for future improvements.

We maintain our ambitions to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions and look forward to reporting the impact of our green initiatives in the coming financial year.

Recycling - again and again

Every day we ship many beds and mattresses all over the world. We pack our products securely so that they reach the recipient safely.

And every day we work to increase the amount of recyclable materials in the packaging.

All cardboard now consists of up to 80% recycled materials, while all the metal in our products comes from 30% recycled steel. And we’re just getting started…

Turn down the power and turn up the good energy

The motors in our elevation beds are designed with a focus on being as energy efficient as possible and saving electricity. That is why our elevation motors are equipped with ZERO™ standby power.

ZERO™ technology means that a maximum of 0.1 watts is consumed when the motor is on standby. An elevation motor on ZERO™ standby can therefore be on standby for approx. 20 months and only use the same amount of energy as a 60 watt light bulb uses per hour.

ZERO™ technology is therefore both good for the climate and for your electricity bill.

It's not just about you and me

It is an integral part of our culture to be broadly oriented. Also when it comes to labor.

For example, we make room for people on the edge of the labor market who deserve to be helped to get started – and we are very proud to have been awarded the CSR People award again this year by Horsens Municipality and the Jobtaskforce.

All cardboard now consists of up to 80% recycled materials, while all the metal in our products comes from 30% recycled steel. And we have only just begun…
